New National Tournament Media Release Policy
June 06 2010 by PD Staff
To better serve its members, NFL has adopted a new national tournament media release policy beginning with the 2010 tournament.
1. After the conclusion of the tournament, national office staff will e-mail electronic media releases to coaches, school administrators, and provided media contacts. Hard copy media releases will be sent by request only.
2. National office staff will distribute one comprehensive media release naming all award winners. Staff will also send a customizable media release template so that coaches who wish to create a specific media release may easily do so.
3. Both the complete media release and the customizable template will be available on the official national tournament Web site at http://nflnationals.org/press/.
Why the changes?
1. Timeliness. This policy will enable staff to distribute media releases immediately following the national tournament. Under the hard-copy policy, this process took days or even weeks.
2. Accessibility. Electronic press releases are easier to share and distribute than hard copy releases. For this reason, many people – including media contacts -- prefer electronic releases.
3. Conservation. Electronic press releases conserve resources, helping us save your membership dollars and reduce our ecological footprint. Contact Us.
To ask questions, provide feedback, or request a hard copy press release, please e-mail Jenny Corum Billman, Coordinator of Public Relations, at jenny.billman@nationalforensicleague.org.
