Participant in the first Public Forum Tournament of Champions and former Nebraska state champion (as coach and debater). Aaron Has been an instructor at the Nebraska Debate Institute for the last three years.

Ziad Al-Jawadi

Ziad Al Jawadi debates for the Harker school and went undefeated in the preliminary rounds of the 2010 Tournament of Champions, the first team to do so since 2007.

He has participated in 36 tournaments, earning more than 1,000 NFL points.  In addition to his success at the TOC, he has reached the late elimination rounds of many national tournaments and finished third at the NDCA championships.

He is also fluent in Arabic and has traveled extensively throughout the Middle East.

James Pates

James attended the National Tournament of Champions on three occasions, amassing awards each time and winning the 2006 championship. This is James' second year teaching Public Forum.

Rob Baron

Rob Baron has coached Public Forum Debate at Eagan High School for 6 years and is one of the top Public Forum Debate coaches in the state of Minnesota.  He has qualifed 8 teams to the NFL National Tournament (including the 2009 10th place finishers) and has won the Minnesota JV/Novice State Championship each of the last 4 years. His teams have made several out-round appearances in national circuit tournaments including West Des Moines Valley, The Glenbrooks and Blake. When not coaching debate he is a Rhetoric PhD Candidate at the University of Minnesota working on digital rhetoric and digital literacy
