Welcome to The Art of War: Debating Politics in 2010, By Brian Manuel

Here at Planet Debate we have decided to give our dedicated followers a new feature for 2010.  Every week we intend on posting an update to this blog discussing strategies for debating the politics disadvantage on the affirmative and negative.  We will look to provide strategies on many of the hot button issues on Obama’s agenda and offer complete coverage of the 2010 midterm elections along how to answer the scenarios produced by other colleagues of ours.

Our view of politics in debate is similar to Sun Tzu's view of military strategy.  Sun Tzu thought that strategy was not planning in the sense of working through an established list, but rather that it requires quick and appropriate responses to changing conditions. Planning works in a controlled environment, but in a changing environment, competing plans collide, creating unexpected situations. Since we believe that you must be prepared in all instances to defend politics on the aff and neg we provide you this blog filled with strategy and advice to adjust to all different types of in round situations.
